Dear Family & Personal Friends,
I have founded and led Serious Play! Theatre Ensemble for the past twenty years, directing and producing at least two productions a year as well as numerous workshops, collaborations and company trainings, including touring the ensemble locally and abroad to perform. I certainly know that theatre can inspire audiences and bring people together, building more creative, diverse and civically engaged communities both here in Northampton, to the Pioneer Valley and beyond.
This year Serious Play! has brought onboard former ensemble member and now social change fundraising consultant Alyssa Breguet to aid us in our 2014 vision. We are so excited to have her gifting her time and energies to help us with this new focus as we expand our reach as a theatre company. Alyssa has given myself, Artistic Director, and the Board of Directors a specific strategy and defined the parts we each need to play in this year's fundraising campaign. This year for our second annual Valley Gives Day campaign on 12/12/13, we are trying to raise $5,000 for Serious Play! Throughout the day there will be cash prizes awarded to different non-profit organizations as each organization's donations come in. Your donation will help us qualify for these cash prizes. I will be giving the ensemble $100, and it would be great if you are able to commit a $50 tax deductible donation towards the highly creative and award winning work of the Serious Play! Theatre Ensemble. Please know that this type of gift is extremely appreciated! It is an exciting time of positive growth for us. You all know the importance of a healthy budget to a growing organization.
With your donation, you will be contributing to a strong, vibrant and forward looking theatre ensemble. We will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary Serious Play! Ensemble Alumni Reunion this Dec 22.
